Amhara Bank S.C. is inviting competent and qualified candidates to apply for the following positions on a permanent basis:

Position 1: Junior Facility Management Officer

  • Qualification: BA in Purchasing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields
  • Experience: One year of relevant experience, preferably in the banking industry

Purpose of the Job: To assist in delivering efficient and effective facility services in the bank.

Generic Functions:

  • Demonstrate the Bank’s code of conduct and corporate image to the public
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement
  • Contribute to the Bank’s profitability
  • Implement corrective action on deficiencies and raised issues
  • Handle other related generic duties as required

Specific Functions:

  • Assist in annual inspection of vehicles, insurance coverage, and renewal
  • Ensure outsourced facility services are provided as per agreement
  • Monitor proper utilization of sanitary materials and confirm cleaning work
  • Assist in central facility services such as events, air-ticket, catering/canteen, waste disposal, and parking
  • Handle other related duties as required

Place of Work: Head Office

Position 2: Portfolio Management Officer

  • Qualification: BA in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or related fields
  • Experience: Three years of relevant banking experience, including one year in an officer position

Purpose of the Job: To enhance the quality of the Bank’s loan portfolio and improve credit decision-making processes.

Generic Functions:

  • Provide timely reports on plan performance
  • Implement corrective action on deficiencies and raised issues
  • Handle other tasks as requested by supervisor

Specific Functions:

  • Properly classify loans and maintain loan provision as per NBE directive
  • Review disbursed loans, detect deviations, and take corrective action
  • Ensure loans and advances are repaid according to loan contract terms
  • Maintain proper loan provision for potential credit losses risk
  • Update loan files and periodically prune them
  • Handle other tasks as requested by supervisor

Place of Work: Head Office

Position 3: Data Clerk (Contractual basis)

  • Qualification: Diploma in Secretarial Science and Office Management, or related fields
  • Experience: Two years of relevant experience

Purpose of the Job: To assist in providing prompt response to shareholder requests and maintaining share transaction records.

Generic Functions:

  • Provide assistance in all activities of the work unit
  • Properly maintain important files/records
  • Engage in teamwork, collaboration, and transparency
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement
  • Handle other tasks as requested by supervisor

Specific Functions:

  • Transfer shares following the Bank’s procedure and country’s law
  • Receive shareholder requests and provide appropriate responses
  • Handle other related duties as required
  • Handle other tasks as requested by supervisor

Place of Work: Head Office

Position 4: Attorney

  • Qualification: LLB in Law or related fields
  • Experience: 3 years of relevant experience, with at least 1 year in an officer position

Purpose of the Job: Handle legal matters, court proceedings, loan litigation cases, foreclosure cases, and criminal cases. Represent the bank before courts and tribunals. Identify emerging trends related to loan defaults.

Generic Functions:

  • Participate in policy development, review, and implementation
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement
  • Contribute to the bank’s profitability
  • Engage in teamwork, collaboration, and transparency
  • Adhere to internal control system and risk management program

Specific Functions:

  • Represent the bank in court or tribunals
  • Follow up on court orders and advise on defaulting loans
  • Prepare letters for foreclosure activities
  • Handle other related duties as necessary

Place of Work: Head Office

Position 5: Manager, Foreclosure and Debt Recovery

  • Qualification: LLM/LLB in Law or related fields
  • Experience: 7-9 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in a senior officer position

Purpose of the Job: Manage debt recovery through foreclosure and litigation proceedings. Undertake dispute settlement mechanisms.

Generic Functions:

  • Contribute to the bank’s profitability
  • Mentor and coach subordinates
  • Adhere to internal control system and risk management program
  • Evaluate subordinates’ performance
  • Provide timely reports on plan performance

Specific Functions:

  • Implement legal strategies and policies
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate debt recovery activities
  • Manage foreclosure process and ownership transfer
  • Manage court proceedings and legal suits
  • Provide legal advice on loan recovery cases
  • Handle other duties as required

Place of Work: Head Office

Position 6: Branch Manager Grade – I

  • Qualification: BA in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or related fields
  • Experience: 7 years of relevant experience in banking, including 1 year as Assistant Branch Manager/CSM or Relationship Manager, or 2 years as Senior Officer in banking operations

Purpose of the Job: Achieve growth and profitability through cross-selling, customer acquisition and retention, improving customer services, and building strong customer relationships. Manage overall retail banking operations.

Generic Functions:

  • Prepare/review work plans and budgets
  • Demonstrate the bank’s code of conduct and corporate image
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement
  • Contribute to the bank’s profitability
  • Mentor and coach subordinates

Specific Functions:

  • Enhance resource mobilization by coordinating branch workforce
  • Engage in marketing and promotional activities
  • Monitor branch accounts and expenses
  • Ensure timely authorization of transactions and end-of-day processes
