Job Purpose:

The Senior WASH Officer will provide strategic guidance and leadership in the WASH sector under the supervision of the Area Coordinator. The Officer will implement durable water schemes for human and irrigation purposes at Oromia Regional State, East Harerghea Zone, Chiro, and will be responsible for the technical contribution to the development, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the WASH interventions to enhance the livelihoods of Miso agropastoral communities affected by recurrent drought.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifying formal and informal sources of information and collecting and reporting all available data on the evolving situation in the sector.

  • Leading detailed WASH technical assessments and feasibility studies, preparing BoQs for different project activities.
  • Assisting in identifying longer-term requirements of WASH intervention/operations.
  • Regularly monitoring WASH activities like construction hygiene and sanitation activities and coordinating with other sector interventions.

Personal Specification:

  • A University bachelor’s degree in Water Resources Management, hydraulics, Environmental or any other related discipline with hand-on WASH experience and training.

Islamic Relief Ethiopia (IRE) is looking to hire two IYCF Nurses for a 10-month period. The duty station will be in Guradamole and Kersadulla, Somali Regional State.

Job Purpose:

The IYCF Nurse will be responsible for ensuring high-quality IYCF-E activities, closely integrated with the Emergency Response project. The IYCF Nurse will ensure that the project’s activities fit within the framework of the National Nutrition Program and will ensure good relations with local stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accomplish project site activities and support community-based groups
  • Participate in providing IYCF-E technical support to Woredas and IR staff
  • Ensure all staff understand and implement the IYCF-E program guidelines
