1. Credit Manager

Job Description

Addisitua Ethiopia Community based saving and credit Cooperative Licensed & Operating in Addis Ababa City Would like to recruit competent and experienced the Finance Manager vacant post.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Develop and maintain effective and cost-effective policies and procedures to achieve target portfolio size while managing credit risk.

  • Set credit management policies and procedures to ensure that loans are granted based on technical criteria and that follow-up on late payment is prompt and effective.
  • Oversee training and information dissemination to ensure that credit staff understands policies and procedures.

Oversee loan approval processes to achieve agreed-upon targets.

  • Propose allocation of loan funds in all branches according to available products
  • Ensure that branches approve loans on the basis of existing policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper scrutiny and preparation of loan application and agreements and repayment schedules.
  • Sample check accuracy of interest calculation on loans and act upon discrepancies discovered.
  • Arrange Credit -Committee meetings and guide the committee to approve loans based on policies and procedures.
  • Report on loan portfolio

Ensure delinquent loan recovery processes meet targets.

  • Follow up of overdue loans and debts for proper recoveries.
  • Oversee that late payments are followed up promptly and effectively.
  • Carry out surprise checks at branch levels on reconciliation, repayments and defaulted loans.

Work with Marketing Department to conduct market research. Adjust products and product mix accordingly to meet market demand and targets for portfolio growth.

Write reports on loan performance

Perform any other professional duty assigned 

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree/ Master’s Degree in Accounting /Finance,  MBA or any related  field.
  • Professional course in accounting is an added advantage

Experience

  • 5 years for Bachelors and 3 years Masters
  • Proven experience in similar position or 1 years supervisory role for Bachelors
  • Industry Experience will be an added advantage).

2. Finance Manager

Job Description

Addisitua Ethiopia Community based saving and credit Cooperative Licensed & Operating in Addis Ababa City Would like to recruit competent and experienced the Finance Manager vacant post.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

Coordinate the overall operation of the Finance Departments.

  • Ensure that departments are equipped with relevant functioning hardware and software for efficient functioning of cooperative
  • Serve as a custodian on cash matters: keep safe keys

Report on the cooperative’s financial status and external operating environment

  •  Ensure timely preparation of branch and consolidated trial balances on monthly basis formatted according to standards required by Ministry of Cooperatives and donors
  • Prepare monthly reports and analyze ratios required by Agency and other stakeholders
  • Prepare quarterly economic reports
  • Prepare accurate annual financial statements on a timely basis formatted according to standards required by the Agency

Prepare annual budgets, funds flow statements, and anticipated capital expenditures to be approved by the general assembly.

Monitor and manage the cooperative’s budget according to approved budgets

  • Ensure that the budget allocations are not exceeded and revenue targets are met and advise management accordingly.
  • Develop and implement cost control measures to reduce operational costs based on targets agreed upon with the General Manager.

Develop, maintain and oversee implementation of effective procedures to expand loan portfolio and manage credit risk.

  • Grow portfolio and maintain delinquency rates that meet or exceed target levels agreed upon with General Manager or specified in strategic plan.

Ensure effective and safe utilization of the Cooperative’s assets.

  • Ensure that each branch holds sufficient but not excess liquidity according to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the financial structure meets targets agreed upon with the General Manager or specified in strategic plan that increasingly adhere to international standards.
  • Ensure investments are prudent

3. Operations Manager

Description

Addisitua Ethiopia Community based saving and credit Cooperative Licensed & Operating in Addis Ababa City Would like to recruit competent and experienced the Operations Manager vacant post.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

Formulate and update policies and participate in strategic planning

  • Keep abreast of human resources and administrative policies and procedures
  • Ensure the understanding and implementation of policies by all staff
  • Participate in the definition of the cooperative strategic plan

Manage the cooperative’s human resources according to policies and procedures

  • Handle all aspects of recruitment: post advertisements for the internal or external recruitment of cooperative staff, present aspirants to the cooperative and the cooperative to aspirants, follow up on references, keep records from interviews, write acceptance letters to new recruits, establish contracts for new recruits, write letters of confirmation for permanent employment.
  • Oversee ongoing appraisal of all staff; with input from General Manager.
  • Ensure that cooperative functions are effectively and cost-effectively staffed
  • Identify training needs. Develop and implement training plan.
  • Prepare Head Office annual leave roster and approve branch leave plans
  • Manage remuneration and benefits
  • Keep personnel files up-to-date
  • With input from relevant managers and supervision of General Manager, manage grievance, termination, and disciplines processes
  • Handle all internal communications in relation to human resource matters

Administration and operations

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the marketing plan that supports the organization’s strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate operations in marketing, education and training, and IT.
  • Serve as custodian on documents such as collaterals log books
  • Ensure smooth internal communication between head office and branch on all operational matters: direct reports from the branches to relevant departments for action

Management of the institution’s transport fleet Vehicles

  • Maintain logistics of motor vehicles/motor cycles and sanction usage.
  • Oversee fuelling, repairs and maintenance of the fleet
  • Ensure proper update and custody of insurance, inspection certificates, and log books.

Any other official duties that may be assigned

4. General Manager

Job Description

Addisitua Ethiopia Community based saving and credit Cooperative Licensed & Operating in Addis Ababa City Would like to recruit competent and experienced the General Manager vacant post.

Main duties and responsibilities:

With Management Committee, set strategic objectives and strategic planning for the cooperative. Ensure that objectives and revenue targets are achieved as scheduled.

  • Coordinate senior managers to effectively implement the cooperative’s strategic plan.
  • Monitor the achievement of the cooperatives strategic objectives
  • Oversee compliance with policies set by Management Committee, government regulations, contracts, and donor requirements.

Ensure safe custody of the institution’s assets.

  • Ensure formulation of policy regarding internal controls and financial management.
  • Secure capital as required.
  • Ensure availability of financial resources and their appropriate use.
  • Coordinate budgetary planning and ensure that accurate and timely financial reports are always available.

Ensure timely implementation of human resources policies

  • Spearhead all decisions of hiring, termination, and salary increments.
  • Guide and direct Deputy General Manager Finance and Accounts and Deputy General
  • Manager for Operations and Administration, and all Departmental Heads
  • Ensure staff understands vision and mission of the institution

Overall responsible to members and management Committee

  • Ensure timely management committee meetings
  • Take minutes during management committee meetings and ensure their confirmation in the subsequent meeting
  • Advice the institution’s Management Committee on any decision taken that may affect the general operation of the institution.
  • Any other duties that may be delegated by the Management Committee.

Serve as cooperative’s Chief Executive

  • Enter into contracts on behalf of the cooperative  institution
  • Recommend cooperative  of legal proceedings/defence/compromise for the interest of the cooperative

  • 10 years for Bachelors and 8 years Masters
